ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET PRICES AT TO-DAY’S SALE. BRIGHTER TONE THROUGHOUT. The quality of the fat stock at the weekly market at Ashburton to-day ivas the best that has been offered lor many weeks and was a marked improvement on the last few sales. Prices consequently showed a rise of between Is 6d and 2s for both ewes and wethers. The sale of fats was brisk and butchers were active. Two races were offered and were sold by mid-day. With the exception, of one line, which was sold at 19s, the fat wethers, 105 in number, all realised 1 over 20s, the top price being 26s lOd for four, on account of Mr A. R. Keith, of Winchmore. The feature of the fat ewe market was a line on account of Mr F. Long, of Kyle, who topped the prices with 22s Id for a pen of 11. About 70 were offered on this account, 60 of which were sold at over 20s.

The only stock left to be sold after mid-day was a few penis' of stores. Prices for fat stock were as follow:

Ewes.—Eleven at 21s Id, 5 at 20s 4d, 11 at 22s Id, 10 at 20s Id, 7 at 20s lOd, 6 at 21s 2d, 7 at 18s 4d, 6 at 21s lOd, 7 at 20s Id, 13 at 15s 7d, 10 at 14s lOd, 5 at 18s lOd, 5 at 19s 10d, 5 at 19s 4d, 11 at 19s 4d, 12 at 20s- 4d, 10 at 15s Bd, 11 at 15s, 10 at 14s 3d, 10 as 14s 4d, 11 at 13s 7d, 13 at 10s. Wethers. —Eleven at 23s 4d, 7 at 26s 4d, 7 at 24s 7d, 4 at 26s lOd, 6 at 23s Id, 6 at 21s lOd, 6 at 21s Id, 9 at"2os 4d, 7 at 25s 7d, ,7 at 25s Id, 12 at 19s, 4 at 21s 2d, 3 at 21s lOd. Cattle.—Fats: Steers, 2 at £7, 1 at £6, heifer £7. Stores: Two steers and 2 heifers at £2 18s each, cow at £3 ss, heifer at £2 17s 6d, calf at 30s, heifer ■at £3 10s, yearling at £2 7s 6d, dairy cow £B. BRADFORD WOOL MARKET.
