A London cablegram announces the engagement of the youngest daughter of the Earl of Stradbroke. (ex-Governor of Victoria) to Major Douglas Beresford Ash, of Londonderry.
It is stated on good authority (says a Dargaville message) that Mr William Grounds (ex-chairman of the Dairy Control Board) will contest the Kaipara seat at the next general election in the Country Party's interests.
