WOMEN CONFER.

EDUCATION PROBLEMS. (United Press Association-y Copyright.) HONOLULU, August 14. A general survey of education problems of Pacific countries was made by Dr Anna Brinton. of U.S.A., at this morning's session of the Women's Conference. Other addresses dealt with various phases of 'education, and included an able one on religious education in Japan by Miss Shizu, of Kawasaki. Another on new tendencies m Latin America was given by Senora de Aldag, Mexico. Nursery schools and libraries were the subjects of addresses at a public meeting held last night. The conference committee has decided to admit associates to round-table conferences without the right to speak or vote. , , ~ J The hospitality of Honolulu residents is increasing in generosity. The British Consul entertains the British delegates on August 21. Members of the conference will be the guests in the afternoon of the Daughters of Hawaii, a women's society which has been organised to preserve buildings and memorials of Hawaiian history. The party will be held at the house of the former Queen of Hawaii, now a museum. The entertainment will include delifrhtful traditional songs and dances not performed except upon such special occa-
