WAGES REDUCED.
MINERS IN AUSTRALIA. (United Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, August 15. Judge Beeby has reduced the wages of contract workers in the southern and western collieries of New bouth Wales, also in the collieries of lasmania and at Wonthaggi (Victor a) by ' 12* per cent. Day wage employees have been reduced 6d per day. A RAILWAY APPLICATION. 30,000 AFFECTED IN N.S.W. (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A New South Wales and Victorian Railway Commissioners have lodged an application before the Federal Arbitration Court for variation of the existing federal awards arid-reduction in wages. Thirty thousand men in New South Wales are affected.
