NEGLIGENT DRIVER.
FINED AND DELICENSED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 2. Stanley Prebble, who pleaded guilty to driving in a negligent manner, was yesterday fined £ls by Mr Page, S.M., and for failing to stop and give his name after an accident was fined £5. For driving against an automatic signal he was convicted and discharged, and his license was cancelled for 12 months. His companion in the car, Leopold Prier, was fined £2 with costs for not haying a driver's license. The facts were that Prebble failed to observe the automatic signals at the Bank of New Zealand corner, with the result that he ran into another car, pushed it on to the pavement and injured a young woman standing there. Later he handed the car over to the control of Prier. Charges of intoxication were not established.
