THE FLIGHT TO CAPETOWN. EARLY MORNING DEPARTURE. (United Press Association —Copyright.) LONDON, April 10. , The Duchess of Bedford and Captain Barnard left Croydon Aerodrome yesterday afternoon in a Fokker-Jupiter monoplane for Lvmpne, whence they left at 5.30 this morning on an attempt to fly to Cape Town and hack, a distance of 18,500 miles, in 18 days. Mr R. Little accompanied them as an auxiliary pilot. Last August the Duchess and Captain Barnard made a record flight to India and back, in seven and a half days. On that flight, the Duchess, who is 61 years of age. took her turn in control of the aeroplane while Captain Barnard slept, and she will relieve the pilots at the controls on the present flight.— British Official Wireless.
