THE CUNARD LINE.
RETIREMENT OF CHAIRMAN. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, April 9. Sir Thomas Royden announced at the annual meeting of the company held in Liverpool his resignation as chairman of the Cunard Company, which position lie has held since 1922. Pressure of personal affairs was the reason, he §aid. He will continue to be a director.
He is succeeded by Sir Percy Bates, tlie deputy chairman. —British Official \Vireless.
