MAJESTIC THEATRE. Sliding panels, creepy noises, weird figures, terror-filled shadows, a ghastly hooded creature —these are some of the things that go to make up the most thrilling mystery film ever shown in Ashburton. It is “The Terror.” and was. given its initial screening at the Majestic Theatre last night to a large audience. It is an all-talking picture, and has a notable cast. The residents cf the ancient house in which the scenes are laid are an aged doctor and his daughter. Here come all sorts and conditions of weird people, some of them to get well, but more to find, if possible, the hiding place the vast amount of money stolen from a bank, and supposedly secreted there. The horrible secret of the house is the fact that it is haunted by a cloaked and gruesome figure known as “The Terror.” The doings of the crooks, cops, hysterical ladies and others in escaping the clutches of the fiend, make it up. This film will be shown again and to-morrow night.
