MOUNT SOMERS EWE FAIR.

The second annual ewe fair was held at the Mount Somers Estate yards in oood weather. There was a large attendance of farmers, both North and South Canterbury being well represented. The whole yarding comprised station lines and the condition of the sheep was good in spite of the wet and cold spring, which was the worst experienced for the past 20 years. The stock, which was well displayed, due to the assistance given by Mr Moroau manager of the Mojant Someis Estate, included drafts .from the following; The Peaclie Estate Mount; Somers, Mount Possession, Surrey Hills, Wollmers, H. G. Nell, Clent Hills, Barosa and Okawa. The yarding totalled 8590. The principal sales were: Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd, sold on account of Mount Somers Estate, 100 2-tooth halfbred ewes at 18s 3d, 271 4-year halfbred ewes at l/s Id; A. N-Grio-g (Surrey Hills), 594 sound-mouth Romnev halfbred ewes at 18s 9d; i ( . Peter, ‘l6O 2-tooth halfbred ewes at 13s 82 full-mouth halfbred ewes at ss;’ Mount Somers Estate. 70 f. and f.m. halfbred ewes at 7s 6d. The National Mortgage and. Agency Co Ltd., sold on account of T. A. Wri'dit, 164 4-year halfbred ewes at 10s ° Mc*nt : Possession Estate, 120 full-mouth halfbred ewes at 6s 2d; G. Bland, 151 halfbred wether lambs at 2s 10d; Mount Somers Estate, 100 s.m. halfbred ewes at 15s 3d. 201 lialfbml ewes at 16s 9cl; Colonel Neill, 568 4-vear-old halfbred ewes at 16s 3d. PROPERTIES PASSED IN. •/ A property comprising one-quarter acre section ‘and four-roomed dwelling, situated in Dobson Street, was offered, at auction on account of the estate of Agnes Kefr, deceased, by Henry Stephenson yesterday afternoon, and was passed in at £4lO. There was no offer for a> half-acre section with five-roomed dwelling, situated at the corner of Cross and Cox streets, Allenton, offered on account of the mortgagee.
