This Day

Archibald Gardner, assistant-sanitary inspector at Hamilton, was sentenced to three years' probation on 51 charges of small "thefts involving £29, in the Hamilton Court to-day. The thefts consisted of licenses and fees which accused was not • authorised to collect, and for which he gave receipts from a book taken from the Council office.
