MARRIED WOMEN TEACHERS.
SHOULD NOT BE EMPLOYED
(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. - A deputation from the Linwood School Committee recently waited on the Canterbury Education Board's Appointments Committee and urged that married women teachers should not be employed if their husbands are in a position to support them. The Appointments Committee recommended the deputation to try to have the law amended. When the matter came before the Board to-day, the following resolution was passed : "The Board is unanimous in reiterating its opinion as to the desirability of restricting the employment of married women teachers."
