MINERS AT LITHGOW.

OPPOSED TO WAGE REDUCTION

(United Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, December 4. Meetings of miners in the northern coalfields, in order to discuss the terms of settlement of the coal dispute, will be held during the week-end, Their delegates to the recent conference are strongly urging acceptance of the terms, ' but there is considerable hostility in some quarters, and an attempt will he made by the militants to have the terms rejected. There was- a significant development to-day at Lithgow, in the Western district .where the miners at a mass meeting unanimously rejected the terms and also pledged themselves to fight any kind of wage reduction to the bitter end. The position therefore is still in the balance.
