MEN’S HOCKEY.
'VARSITY DEFEATS ASHBURTON. The first men’s hockey match of the season played here took place on Saturday afternoon between an Ashburton team and the Christchurch Varsity Club. After an interesting game, which was more even than the score would indicate, ’Varsity won by 6 goals to 1. Mr M. Baker was referee.
