LINESMAN SUCCUMBS TO BURNS. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, December 26. Percy Thrower, the Post Office linesman who was injured in the Holborn gas explosion, died in hospital.—Australian Press Association. An extraordinary gas explosion occurred at High Holborn on December 20 half a mile of roadway being torn up and other serious damage done. Nobody was killed, but Thrower was terribly burnt. He had descended a manhole to connect a blower with a switch, and a few minutes later a sheet of flame rushed up. He managed to «!«n»M© *> u t with his clothes afire.
