Joyce Cooper, aged four, who wandered away on Christmas Eve, was found dead by a constable and a black tracker at the foot of the Stirling Ranges, four miles away. Twenty-one trackers, 14 mounted police and 100 men scoured the bush all night and Christmas Day. The country is very rugged. It is believed the child died on Wednesday.—Australian Press Association.
