ENTERTAINMENTS
ANNUAL GONCERT.
TECHNICAL SCHOOL PUPILS. The annual conceit nf the Ashburton Technical School was hold in St. Andrew's Hall on Saturday evening, before a large audience. The programme was given by the scholars, assisted by pupils of Miss Dorothy White and other Christchurch performers. Every item was well received. A one-act play entitled, "The Slippers of Cinderella" was presented, the cast being as follows:—"Myra," P. Anderton; "Jane," 0. Watts; "Agatha," M. Blight; "Polly," E. Wilson; "Dolly," M. Alexander; "Belinda," K. Coward; "Fairy Godmother," G. Shearer; "Eliza," I. Anderton; "Jimmy," W. Bryson. Music was played by the following orchestra, under the baton of Mr W. Woods:—Miss E. Moore (piano); Mesdames H. Naylor, W. McDonald, R. Mayfiold, W. O'Grady, F. Wills and Messrs E. Bates and T. Lush (violin?) ; Miss M. Dunn ('cello); Mrs C. P. Alington (flute); Mr P. Mayfield (cornet) ; Mr S. Wallis (trombone) ; Mr P. Watts (clarinet); Mr N. Jones (double bass); Mr C. Galbraith The concert programme was as follows : Overture, "In a Chinese Temple Garden," orchestra; one-act play, "The Slippers of Cinderella," students; ballet "Jazz," senior ballet; song, Mrs Scrimshaw; ballet, "Bambalina," junior ballet; cornet solo, Mr Moody; solo dance, "Acrobatic," Miss B. Bennett; monologue, Miss Alice Chapman; dance dou, "Russian," Misses L. Stewart and B. Stevens; song, Mr T. Coolc; exhibition ballroom "Ramona," Misses V. Beynon and A. Penn; euphonium solo, Mr Crisp; Charleston duo, "Nothin'," AJisses L. Stewart and B. Stevens -, entr'acte, "Autumn Memories," orchestra; dance, "Miss B. Stevens ; song." Mrs Scrimshaw ; dance duo, Misses J',. Jackson and N. Merrin ; recitation, Miss A. Chapman; ballet, "Rose," junior ballet (soloist, Miss R. Jones); song, Mr T. Cook; ballet, "Doll Dance," senior ballet; instrumental duet, Messrs Crisp and Moody ; song, Miss A. Chapman; item, selected; ballet, "On a Dew Dew Dewy Day," senior ballet.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "Tea for Three," which will be shown to-night and to-morrow night, is a thoroughly entertaining example of modern sophisticated comedy. Highpower thrills and screamingly funny comedy alternate throughout the picture, which describes the comolications in the martial relationship of a very jealous husband and his pretty, alluring young wife, through the intentional plotting of the husband's "best friend." An Our Gang comedy, entitled "Heebee-Jeebees," will also be screened.
