CROQUET.
THE ASH BURTON CLUB. An unusually large number of members attended on the Ashburton croquet lawns on Saturday afternoon, when a number of friendly games were played. . „ , At the close of the afternoon tea adjournment a general meeting of members was held, the captain, (Mrs F.. M. Brodie) presiding. It was. decided tnat the closing day for the season should be Saturday, April 28 s . The Timaru Croquet Club wrote asking the Asnbuiton members to consider a suggestion to form a South Canterbury Croquet Association. The matter was very fully discussed and a motion was unanimously carried in favour of meeting the South Canterbury delegates to further discuss the matter before, arriving at a final decision.
