RAILWAY STRIKE.

SYMPATHETIC ACTION. REFUSAL TO HANDLE GOODS. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) PERTH, This Day. In sympathy with the strikers on the Midland railway, who ceased work because the company refused to grant long-servioe leave as on the State railways, the State railway employees refused to handle goods for delivery to the Midland Company. The State Railway Commissioner therefore announced that there was no other course but to refuse to accept further consignments. This development will probably defeat the Midland Company’s endeavour to send a special tram from the Midland junction to Geraldton with the aid of officials.—Australian Press Association.
