POLICE STATION WRECKED. OCCUPANTS’ NARROW ESCAPE. OUTRAGE IN QUEENSLAND. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. The police station at Portland, near Townsville, was wrecked by an explosion believed to have been caused by dynamite which was placed! under the flooring boards. A police constable and his tainily, who were sleeping on the premises, had a miraculous escape from death. The motive is a mystery. _ . —Australian Press Association.
