HUMANE SOCIETY'S AWARD. (United Press Association—Copyright). SYDNEY, April 11. . Miss Lucy Donaldson, the 20-year-old heroine o£ the shark tragedy, has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Roval Shipwreck Relief and Humane Society. She is believed to be the first woman so honoured. Arthur E. Lane, while bathing in the surf near Newcastle, was attacked by a shark and badly mauled. Miss Donaldson hurried 50 yards into the water to his assistance, frightening the shark away. Lane died on his way to the hospital.
