THE POLISH DIET.
SOCIALIST AS PRESIDENT. BITTER FEELINGS ENGENDERED. (Per Press Association —Copyright.) (Received! This Day, 10.15 a.m.) WARSAW, March 29. The unexpected election of a Socialist (M. Daszynski) as President of the Chamber created the bitterest feeling in the Diet. Ministerialists declined to take part in the election of five vicepresidents. It is likely that the Prime Minister (M. Pilsudski) will pass a preliminary Budget and then ask for a dissolution to checkmate the Communists. * A previous cablegram stated: At the opening of the newly-elected Diet the Communists shouted "Down with the Dictatorship!" Marshal Pilsudski was interrupted, to such an extent when reading his address that he summoned the and seven arrests weretaade. The Diet, by 206 votes to 136, elected M. Daszynski President.of the Diet, instead, of Marshal Pilsudski's candidate, M. Bartel. M. Daszynski accepted the office, and Marshal Pilsudski's party immediately left the Diet.
