LIFE ON MARS

ASTRONOMER'S THEORY. IN ADVANCE OF HUMAN BEINGS. CONDITIONS ON OTHER PLANETS. (Per Press Atsor-'tion— Copyright.), ("Sun.") (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 29. In an impressive address before students of the University of California at Los Angeles, Dr.; Henry Norris Russell (of the University of Princetown), a world-famous astronomer, said: "Life probably exists on Mars and may extend to hundreds and even thousands of other worlds. Living beings have probably reached a stage in development of billions of years in advance of our own. The law of mathematical chance makes it possible that of unknown worlds, thousands, perhaps millions, of planets which may revolve about the million known support life."
