ASHBURTON V. GERALDINE, A friendly match between four rinks each from the Ashburton and Geraldine Bowling Clubs was played at Geraldine on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in a win for Ashburton by 100 points to 72 The green was in splendid order and the piay was most enjoyable.

The team of Australian howlers, together with officials from the Christchurch Centre, visited Rakaia on Saturday,. when they met rinks representative of the country clubs, Ashburton ‘‘and Ellesmere, The visitors won three of the’ official matches to two, while a rink comprising Canterbury Centre and New Zealand Association officials also proved successful. Mr R- Galbraith (Mayor or Ashburton) extruded a hearty welcome to the Australian- bowlers, and wished them every success during the tour. Three cheers were given for the visitors. Mr E. W.'
