WARATAH RUGBY TEAM. DRAWN MATCH WITH LONDON. LONDON, January 28. i The New South Wales Rugby team drew with London, neither side scoring. , . Twickenham was cold, wet, windy 'and slippery. The attendance was 12,000. The game was a dour forward struggle. The appalling conditions seemed to infect the players and the game was uninspiring. Owing to the Army match, the London side was unable to call up several internationals. The Waratahs were equally unfortunate, owing to injuries. RECORD OF MATCHES. The match against London is the last of the official programme of games of the Waratahs' tour in the Old Country. This game was to have been played on December 2,6, but the unprecedented suiowstorms in England at Christmas time rendered play impossible and it was agreed that the Waratahs should play the match on their return from France. It is a curious coincidence that the match should have had the same result as the first the tourists played with London-a pointless draw. While the Waratahs have not met with success equal to that enjoyed by some of the other colonial Rugby teams that have visited- the United Kingdom, they have, on the whole, done well, and their record does not compare unfavourably with that of the. Wallabies, the Australian team which went Home about 20 years ago. It is 'stated that the Waratahs ■ have proved the most popular colonial Rugby team that has ever toured the Old Country, and the estimated profit from their matches far exceeds that of the all-conquering 1924 All Blacks. ;, _ In the United Kingdom, the Waratahs have played 28 matches. They won 22, lost four, and two were drawn. They scored 400 points, compared with 177 scored against them. The record of the 1924 All Blacks for their matches in the United Kingdom was: Played 28, won 28, points for 654, points against 98. The Waratahs played five international matches with the following results:—
Versus IrelandU-Won, 5 to 3. Versus Wales—Won, 18 to 8. Versus Scotland—Lost, 8 to 10. Versus England, lost, 11 to 13. Versus France —Won, 11 to 8. Points for 53, against 47. + In addition to being beaten by Scotland and England, the Waratahs also lost to Oxford University, PontypooJ and South-West France. Comparison with Previous Tours.
