In connection with Hen- Groener's appointment as Minister for Defence, the Berlin correspondent; of the "Daily Express" says President Hindenburg has made a Yemarkable choice, selecting an old comrade-in-arms and one of the ablest men in Germany. Despite the violent.opposition of the Nationalists, the appointment will probably result in Herr Groener becoming the next President. He is not only a staunch upholder of the Republic, birt a courno-eous patriot and a fcreat soldier. It was on his advice that \\ iihelm abdicated.
