BRITISH FRANCHISE.
SUGGESTED RESTRICTION. (Per Press Af-sor °tion—Copyright.) LONDON, January 20. There is a possibility that the Government may take advantage of the drafting of the new Franchise Bill conferring votes on women to revive the former provision under which persons in receipt of poor law relief are not allowed to vote. It is urged that the Bill will thus be renderetl more agreeable to those Government supporters who are not enthusiastic about the extension of the franchise.
