Mr J. G. McKay (manager of the Ashburton Experimental Farm), who has just recovered from a serious illness, left to-day for Southland, to visit his parents.
A Brisbane cablegram announces the death of Mr John Payne, a member of the Legislative Assembly and one of the pioneers of the Labour movement in Queensland,
Mr M. B. Cooke, of Rakaia, who has just completed his three years’ course at the Lincoln Agricultural College, has been appointed to the staff of Wesley College, Auckland, and leaves next week to take up his appointment.
