BLIZZARD IN JAPAN
COUNTRY UNDER SNOW. . DEATHS AND DESTRUCTION. TOKIO, January 2. The storm has subsided, leaving many parts of the ndrth of Japan, under 10ft. o f . snow. Probably there will be 100 deaths, as many houses collapsed and many small ships are misismg. A thousand coolies are clearing a track to the Akakura spa, where the Princes Chichibu and Takamttsu, brothers of the Emperor, are snow-bound, in order to permit of their attendance at the New Year festivities at the Emperor's palace. Four Waseda University students who were ski-ing in the Japanese Alps and who were caught in a blizzard, perished. Se'ven of their comrades were rescued by volunteers from the town of Kino.
