APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED. (Per Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, January 14. The" King has approved of the following appointments:— Major Sir George Hennessey (VicejChamberlain of the Household) to be Treasurer of his Majesty's Household, vice the Right Hon. G. A. Gibbs, created Lord Wraxall. Major William Cope (Junior Lord of the Treassury) to be Comptroller of the Household, vice Major Sir Harry Barnston. " Mr F. C. Thomson (Junior Lord of the Treasury) to be Vice-Chamberlain of the Household, vice Sir George Hennessey. Mr H. G. Williams to be Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, vice Sir R. Barton Chadwick, resigned.

Captain H. Douglas l King (Financial Under-Secretary for War) to be Secretary for Mines, vice the Hon. G. R. Lane-Fox, resigned. Mr A. Duff Cooper to be Financial Secretary to the Avar Office, vice Captain King. Mr F. G. Penny and the Marquess of Litchfield to he Junior Lords of the Treasury, vice Major Cope and MiThomson.

Captain H. Douglas King, C.8.E., D. 5.0., has been member for South Paddington since 1922. From 1918 to 1922 he was Independent member for North Norfolk. He has been Financial Secretary to the War Office since 1924. He wontiie D.S.O'. in the R.N.V.R. at Gallipoli and isi an A.D.C. to the King. Mr Alfred Duff Cooper served in the Grenadier Guards in the war, and won the" D.S.O. He has been member for Oldham since 1924. . Mr Herbert Geraint Williams. M.bc., MEng., Assoc, M.lnst., C.E., is secretary and manager of the Machine Tool Trades Association, a director of the Empire Industries' Association, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of British Industries. He has been member for Reading since 1924.
