ASHBURTON v. ELLESMERE. A match between teams representing the Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis SubAssociation and the Ellesmere SubAssociation was played in Ashburton on Saturday and resulted in a win for Ashburton "by 18 sets to 14. The courts were fairly heavy owing to the rain the night before, but nevertheless some good games were witnessed. Details are as follows, Mid-Canter-bury names being mentioned first: — Men's Singles.
