GRIEVED FOR WIFE.

MAORI SHOOTS HIMSELF. 'Per Press Association') TAURANGA, This Day. A Maori named Rene Ranui, aged 27 ' was found shot yesterday afternoon at' Waimapu, a Native settlement. When found he said he had grieved over the loss of his wife, who died a month ago of typhoid fever. Ranui was removed to the hospital where he died three hours later. At the inquest this morning the verdict was that he died as the result of a gunshot wound, selfinflicted while in a state of depression.
