THE WEATHER.
A FINE WEEK-END. The weather yesterday was all that could be desired in Ashburton. though many who journeyed to Hakatere in anticipation of bathing in the lagoon found that the easterly wind was making conditions unpleasant. To-day the weather was as perfect as it was yesterday, there being a cloudless sky and bright sunlight. There was a breeze from the north-east. - The barometer at 9 o'clock this morning stood at 30.5 inches as against 30.00 yesterday and 30.2 on Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 66 and 45 degrees respectively, compared with 58 and 43 on Saturday and 69 and 49 on Friday.

The following forecast was issued fco-day:—
Indications are for moderate northerly winds freshening. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather. Barometer falling.
