(Per Press Association—Copyrights (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) BERLIN, January 13. 111-health is given as the primary reason for Dr. Gessler's resignation of the portfolio of Defence, hut there are persistent stories that it is due to Dr. Gessler's resentment at the cutting down of the Estimates, also the result of a hostile campaign on the grounds of his tolerance of Monarehial elements within the Army. It is reported that President Hindenburg is hringing pressure to hear on Dr. Gesseler to remain til! the Budget is through.
