TO-MORROW’S RACES.
THE ASHBURTON CLUB. GOOD DAY ANTICIPATED. Arrangements for the County Racing Club’s summer meeting which is to be held on the Ashburton racecourse to-morrow, have been completed, and all is in readiness for a really good day’s racing. Dull and wet weather has kept the track in good condition and to-morrow should see excellent times in most of the eight events. Though the acceptances are small in one or two races, the horses are of a fairly high order and their performances should prove an attraction. A special train will be run from Christchurch and a large number of sporting enthusiasts should make the trip, while the usual numerous contingent of County supporters will be in evidence. The first race commences at 12.30 p.m. and' the last is timed to start at 5.10 p.m. Special train arrangements have been made to suit patrons from outlying districts. The Ashburton Silver Band will be in attendance and an attractive musical programme has been arranged.
