Mr and Mrs Alan Baxter and family left Methven by) motor this morning for Christchurch en route to Inglewood, Taranaki, where Mr Baxter will have the management of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand. In the Junior National Scholarship examination, Philip Anderson, who entered as a candidate from the Ashburton Borough School but subsequently removed to Invercargill, headed the list of Canterbury candidates with 513 marks. Lilian Ethel Davison, of the Methven District High School, was 12th with 476 marks. Fifty-two scholarships were won by Canterbury pupils.
