Messrs 'Hampton and Quigley who are calling the meeting, have been asked by the people of Tinwold to take the necessary steps towards getting the factory re-opened. In view of the opportunities for establishing the industry in this district, a large and enthusiastic meeting is anticipated. War Memorial;..—Tenders for the erection of the projected memorial to; those who fell in the recent Boer War, were considered by the War Memorial' Committee yesterday. The monument,, which was designed by Mr Hurst Seager, architect, of Christchurch, will! cost about £300.. Of this sum only £2OO, including the Government subsidy, is available so that strenuous efforts are to be made to obtain the necessary funds. The stone used in the construction of the memorial will be quarried at Mount Somers. Cricket.—The following teams have been selected to play against the Methven and Excelsior teams to-morrow v.
