The Eiffel Tower, the world's highest structure, which during the 39 years of its existence, lias been the scene of 111 suicides, is doomed, as the Ministry of the Interior has announced that it must be demolished to prevent its falling. Despite the expenditure of £BOOO annually for upkeep and painting, corrosion is increasing steadily, and it would have fallen long ago had not workmen kept continually renewing the bolts. Already it has passed its estimated life sp?n by 19 j'ears.
