SALARIES OF DIRECTORS. / AUCKLAND, June 15. At to-day's meeting of the shareholders of the Farmers' Trading Company a motion that the directors' salaries be increased! by £IOO each aroused opposition, members being of opinion that several successive good years should be experienced before such a course is adopted. . An interjector exclaimed: "Suppose thejl strike " to which the speaker of the moment, replied: "Let 'em, I'd do the job myself for less."
