SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR.
NEW ZEALAND TEAM. CURTAILMENT DISAPPOINTING. (Per Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, June 14. The suggestion for the curtailment of the New Zealand Rugby tour to 21 matches; including three Tests has caused widespread disappointment throughout South Africa, particularly in the small centres. All are eager to join in the national welcome to the All Blacks. It is understood that the South African Board is l most anxious to meet the views of the visitors, but feels that local conditions make the departure of the New Zealanders on June 16 too late, bringing the tour into hot weather. It feels that New Zealand would pay a great compliment if it trusted the South African. Board regarding the arrangements. The visit is regarded more from the Imperial aspect than from that of actual results.
