ROAD BOARD.

THE LONGBEACH DISTRICT. The Longbeach Road Board met yesterday, the chairman (Mr J. F. McQuilkin), president, presiding, there being also present Messrs W. J. Anderson and H. Watts. The financial statement showed a credit balance ot £349 10s 4d. . .. .^ A breakage in pipes over the ford fronting his property was reported by Mr M Hurley, and as the pipes were laid by the Public Works Department it was decided to write asking that body to effect repairs. An application by Mr J. Stevenson for a bridge across the race fronting his property, was held over until next meeting. „ L .. The Public Works Department < notified the Board to forward works for which it desired provision in the estimates for the current year. It was agreed to renew the application tor subsidy toward the cost of forming Green's and Windermere roads and that portion of Windermere road running through part of the Longbeach Estate. , .. ~ Messrs Wilding and Acland applied, on behalf of Mr W. S. Strange, for removal of the gates from that portion of Boundary Road running from Graham's Road to the Ashburton River. No action was taken.
