CALEDONIAN SPORTS.

THE METHVEN SOCIETY. A special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Methven Caledonian Society was held last evening. Mr W. J. Ceoksley presided, and there were also present: Messrs M. A. Stone, J. T. Goodwin, H. Reid, C. E. Shaw, W. J. Bennett, and W. J. Owen (hon, secretary). An interim report of the recent sports meeting was presented and considered satisfactory. The full .report will be presented at- a meeting of the General Committee. There are a large number of outstanding subscriptions, and collectors were appointed to attend to these. It was decided to endeavour to hold several evening meetings during the year, the first being arranged for next Thursday in the; Domain. Three events will be held—7s yards, 100 yards, and 220 yards open handicaps. Messrs A. Lawrence .arid J. Mauger were appointed handicappers.
