HAND IN HAND IN A THEATRE. BEREAVED ACTRESS ON STAGE. (Per Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, December 29. Laughing audiences at a Cardiff pantomime applauding the vivacious humour of Miss Lyndia Martell did not realise there was tragedy behind her performance. She has for a year been the bride of Lord Lyyeden, and received the news of his death as # she entered the theatre for the matinee. Although greatly distressed, Miss Martell performed her part without a hitch and repeated her success at night. Lord Lyveden had a remarkable career land was successively aetor, artilleryman, waiter in a New York eating house, steward on an American coastal vessel, a nurseryman who introduced a new tomato, Army contractor, caterer to a shipping company, purser, tourist agent, lieutenant in the Naval Reserve, theatrical manager, and variety artist. His father was 72 when he married a pretty Hastings shop girl of 18.
