CHINESE PIRATES.

EICHTEEN BEHEADED. A CANTONESE EXPEDITION. (Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.50 a.m.) SHANGHAI, December 30. Eighteen pirates were captured and immediately beheaded when the Canton Government's military expedition raided Bias Bay. British naval forces were expected to co-operate with aeroplanes and gunboats, attacking from tile sea but the Chinese shore expedition elected to make the raid alone. They attacked the pirates' mountain stronghold with machine-guns, defeating a force of rebel troops stationed nearby. There were heavy losses among the pirates, who fought desperately. Many captives were released.
