CHILD ENDOWMENT.

(Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, December 29. The Children's Endowment Bill has been framed, and will be introduced as soon asi Parliament meets on January 11. It will apply to families where the breadwinner earns not more than £SOO a year. The sum of 6s weekly will be allowed for each child under 14, and in the case of illness of the father the grant will be given for children over 14. Illegitimates &nd children of aliens are not included.

The endowments will absorb about £7,000,000 a year, and will affect 452,000 children.
