BRISBANE, December 29. Bountiful rains have fallen over a large part of the State, and the farmers and pastoralists are jubilant at the breaking of the drought conditions. A thunderstorm visited Brisbane’ with a deluge of rain which flooded the lowlying suburbs, the water invading many houses. ' * I CEASES IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY, December 29. The rain has ceased, but the weather is still showery. Thei whole State 1 is soaked. Floods in the Newcastle district submerged a large area of grass and cultivation lands, doing heavy damage. The waters are now reported to he subsiding.
