A BITTER OUTBURST. (Press Association—Copyright.) BERLIN, December 28. Herr Thyssen, who drafted the steel trade pact with France, Belgium, and Luxemburg, is resigning from the Committee for promoting Franco-Ger-man understanding as a protest against the Landau court-martial. He states: “France seems to believe that every tiling is permissible toward! Germany. She cheated her out of the provisions upon which the Armistice was based, and then, with the aid of 24 other nations, she disarmed Germany while she armed herself to the teeth. In the interests of European peace I hope this French belief will soon be destroyed.”
“DENUDED AND DISARMED.” LONDON, December 28. Herr Thyssen, the German, iron and coal magnate, in a letter published in the “Kolnisehe Zeitung,” resigning hri membership of the Franco-German Committee of Agreement as a_ result of the verdict in connection with the affray at Germersheim, says: France appears to think that a denuded an disarmed! Germany will tolerate anything. I hope this impression, m the interests of European peace, will soon be dissipated.”
