Mr Percy Crisp, editor of the Christchurch “Sun,” and formerly of Ashburton, has been appointed t editor of the Auckland “ Sun,” which is tO' commence publication shortly. __ - -
Mr R. Marsden, seed salesman at. the Ashburton branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, who has been employed by thefirm for over 30 years, is severing his connection with the firm.
Ensign G. H. Pratt and Mrs Pratt,, who for the last two years have beenin charge of the Ashburton Corp 6 or the Salvation Army, have received, notification of their transfer to Petone. Ensign and Mrs Pratt will' leave for the north on Tuesday, January They will be succeeded by Adjutant and' Mrs Oswald Ransom, of Newton* Auckland.
Mr J. Callaghan, M.A., has been appointed professional officer to thenew Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Mr Callaghan, who ie at present employed bv the Auckland Education Board as*instructor in agriculture, represented New Zealand at the Wembley Exhibition as information otbcer(says a Wellington message).
Mr N. Wright, M.Sc., . has been appointed analytical chemist at .theDominion Laboratory (says a Wellington telegram). Prior to the war Mr Wright was employed in the Dominion Laboratory, but resigned to join tiie Expeditionary forces. He won an Expeditionary Force Scholarship, anci later continued his studies in England. Latterly Mr Wright, who is a son of Mr W. M. Wright, secretary of trie Public Service Superannuation Board,, has been engaged with various research associations in England.
