CHRISTMAS CHEER.

Sir, —In the reports appearing m the “ Guardian” of the various functions held at several institutions for the distribution of good cheer to the inmates s you mention that held at Tuarangi Home. Little doubt there were many contributors to that function, as the old gentlemen residing there have many friends in the town and County. In noting the names of the donors, why mention only two or three, when there must have been many other donors P Possibly the cost to the smaller fry, like the widow’s mite, meant more to them than to the supposedly more wealthy ones. If I remember rightly, the same thing happened last year. In previous years the names of the various givers were mentioned. In fairness to all, either mention the lot or none at all. CONTRIBUTOR.
