At the inquest concerning the death of Alexander Strong, who was killed following a family quarrel, and m consequence of whose death -his son, Bruce Strong, was arrested and charged withi murder, evidence was given by another son, Alexander Strong, who said that deceased used to threaten tot blow the family’s brains out. He gave instances of acts of cruelty by his father to members of the family. The Coroner said that although the evidence showed that deceased was a remarkably cruel man, and became practically a maniac when under the influence of liquor, lie could not define accused’s action, as anything other than murder. He therefore committed accused for trial.,
