WHEAT AND FLOUR.
ARRANGEMENT RE PRICES. OHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mr J. W. Collins, Wheat Controller, arrived in Christchurch yesterday to make arrangements in respect of wheat and flour, on the lines of the Government's decision, as announced last week. Under the arrangement the millers agree to a readjustment of prices, and offer farmers 6s 8d per bushel for Tuscan, 6s lOd for Hunters, and 7s for Pearl, all milling wheat to be taken over within the next two months, and the wheat-growers' representatives to recommend strongly their branches to accept the offer. The millers' determined on prices as follow:—£18 per ton for flour, f.0.b., South Island; not to exceed £8 per ton for. bran, f.o.b. South Island; not to expeed £9 per ton for pollard,, f.o.b. j South Island.
The duty on bran and pollard from Australia is to be reduced from £2 10s to £1 per ton.
